Exploring QKD “Delicate therefore Robust”

Children's Educational Installation

"Delicate therefore Robust" is an experiential installation that makes Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) intuitive for children. QKD encodes key information on photons and discards any photons that were interfered with when eavesdropping is detected, forming the key only from the safe ones. This mechanism sustains security in the quantum computer era. To show the paradox—fragility becomes strength—we depicted photons as soap bubbles. Popping them visualizes interference. With each burst in the dark, children touch quantum wonder and the essence of security. This experience aims to spark curiosity about the quantum world in the next generation.
