Expo Calm-Down Room "One Tsubo Hug"
Temporary Architecture / Installations
Yogibo Inc.
“One Tsubo Hug” is a one-tsubo (about 3.3 m²) calm-down room for people with sensory sensitivities or autism. In Japan, “tsubo” dates back to early civilization, when people first divided land to define a safe personal area. It represents the smallest space where one can feel at ease. Reinterpreting this ancient idea, the project turns one tsubo into a gentle refuge where light, texture, and distance create calm belonging. It embodies Yogibo’s philosophy—“a lifestyle of ultimate comfort and positive energy that creates relaxation and connection”—realized at the Osaka–Kansai Expo as a new design for inclusive comfort.
