Outdoor blinds
To address Japan’s recent climate instability, Lixil has developed outdoor blinds. These enable fine adjustment of heat, air flow, light and visibility, with less energy loss than curtains. The range has a span of up to 3,500 mm and a light, simple design to suit the conditions of Japanese homes, such as larger windows and smaller housing units. The blinds can be closed or opened automatically at higher wind speeds in typhoon-prone areas and to detect sunrise and sunset. The blinds can be controlled via IoT with a smartphone or smart speaker.
