Second-generation 4K consumer camcorder. One-fourth the volume and one-third the weight of the previous model (FDR-AX1). The finish of the lens, specially developed for a generous 1” CMOS sensor, has been enhanced to match other luxurious lenses. Lens design sets the tone for the finish and shape of the body and hinge area, which are nicely balanced overall. A button layout that’s convenient in manual operations and a grip shaped to fit securely in one’s hand are other signs of discerning design.
