With transparent online transaction data, FISHER allows fishermen to accurately grasp the volume and amount of fish transactions and cuts out extortion and exploitation by bidding salesmen. FISHER shows that fair prices affect purchase intentions, reduce overfishing due to market demand, and educate people on the concept of ocean sustainability by displaying the breeding period and catchable size.
When technology and a designer’s vision come together, great changes can take place. This service design project offers an opportunity to activate local economies, with a new sense of environmental and social fairness.
