The amount of items to carry invariably increases if there is a need to have a flashlight to evacuate, a lantern for light at evacuation sites, and a whistle to call for help or warn of danger. The batteries in rechargeable systems that are not used on a regular basis may also run out of power when used, rendering the systems inoperable. We have developed a flashlight that can reduce the amount of items to carry and that can be used any number of times simply by inserting a dry-cell battery, even if electricity cannot be secured.
