This is a villa built to float in the forest. By setting the building off the ground, the gently sloping topography remained as it was. The small footprint does not damage the roots of the trees and does not block the flow of groundwater. Moisture from the ground, winter snow and ground freezing are kept away by floating. The hybrid structure, utilizing the distinct characteristics of reinforced concrete, steel framing and timber, is clad in a finish reminiscent of a handcrafted piece, achieved using locally sourced timber and the skilled craftsmanship of artisans. This is a place for experiencing the changing seasons in tranquility.
