TAKENAKA CORPORATION

Foresting Architecture is a temporary architecture planned as a rest area for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. The Expo site was once a landfill for waste. Because the Expo will be held there, the architecture was conceived as a regenerative architecture that will return to the forest after its use, not as an architecture that will become waste after only six months of use. The world's largest transparent structure is made of 3D printed completely biodegradable material made entirely of wood, and is finished with handmade paper containing seeds made by children. From the seeds, plants sprout, grow, and become a forest during the exhibition.
