Experimental Ceramic Design
Fragments is an experimental ceramic project that explores responsible production through process rather than outcome. It highlights the dynamics of the unfinished: plaster molds are deliberately broken and recombined, allowing form, texture, and surface to emerge through making, touching, and material resistance. Design is understood as a continuous dialogue between hand, material, and transformation, challenging ideals of control, perfection, and linear production. Each vessel is shaped by chance, carrying visible traces of its formation.
Made from broken and recombined plaster molds, each ceramic piece emerges through chance, touch, and material resistance, embracing imperfection as part of responsible contemporary design practice. This project ingeniously reframes sustainability as an attitude as much as a goal of contemporary design practice.
WINNER STATEMENTThis is a recognition of process as value — of making, touching, breaking, and beginning again. It confirms that sustainability can emerge not only from materials or efficiency, but from a conscious and ethical attitude embedded in the act of making.
