FUWAKU
Residential
private individualThe main residence is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. A new living space was created keeping an appropriate distance between the new and the main residence, and also keeping family’s different lifestyles in mind, yet the two are connected through space under deep eaves. The building is constructed with a modern interpretation of the traditional structural skills and craftsmanship passed down with oral instruction, and in this project the distinctive structural beauty of the wooden framework and beauty in utilitarian objects were pursued through traditional evolution.
