Garbage Clinical Insurance is a micro health insurance program which uses garbage as a financial resource. With this program, the community pays for health services by using garbage in an insurance scheme. This could make the community mobilize their own unused resources to improve their access to health-care services and breakdown the barrier between health facilities and the community. This program is able to solve two problems at once, the health-care problem and the environmental problem. It can also be used as a social vehicle to increase public awareness and community willingness about waste management from the household level.
