This retirement home draws inspiration from the homeowner’s childhood memories of bamboo groves. Named “Gathering Pavilion,” the design symbolizes family reunion and gentle living. Using imagery of bamboo forests and pavilion structures, the interior blends spaciousness and layering, bringing nature indoors. Metal and wood slats at the entrance evoke bamboo roots, while a canopy-like grille softens ceiling beams. A built-in daybed by the window invites rest and ocean views. Varying ceiling heights, raised floors, and sliding doors maintain openness while subtly defining each area, creating a peaceful, nature-infused home.
