Gerridae’s Waltz
Architecture
SKY Architectural Space Planning and DesignGiven the constant flooding in the rainy season endured by the Southern Taiwan lowlands where the office building is located, the designers took inspiration from nature. The building was modeled on the water-striding insect “gerridae” which is a common sight in this landscape. The building is centered around a large pool as the garden landscape element, which also solves the flooding issues bothering the client. Designed on the biological features of “gerridae,” the building exterior is exclusive and unique. The sunshine scattering through the art glass windows creates different appealing sceneries throughout the day.
