The client has a master’s degree in philosophy, thus the design premise for this house places great importance on expressing a philosophical way of living. Gray tone is the basis of the design for this quiet and introspective living space with embedded philosophical and spiritual values. Gradations of dark and light grays are utilized to complement wood and metal materials, transmitting a warm temperament like that of the client; thus, within the simplicity and tranquility of a philosopher’s mind there is complexity and richness of the spirit.
