Harbour Wave

Public Pavilion

In a city as densely populated as Hong Kong, breathing space is critical to our social well-being, the Harbour Wave invites people to enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbour. The roofscape of Harbour Wave 1.0 is composed of over 30,000 colourful plastic bottle caps, while Harbour Wave 2.0 is composed of over 15,000 nos. of recycled plastic (rPET) ropes. The pavilion demonstrates that beautiful art can be made from recycled materials. At night, the ever-changing lighting design encourages visitors to immerse in a surreal tapestry of colour and motion that provides a brief respite from the intense city life.
