Have a Nice Can!

Canned food packaging

Package design for handmade craft canning brand Have a Nice Can!, created by a Japanese seafood restaurant. The package consists of an individual packaging sleeve, a gift bag of three cans, and a gift box of 6, 9, and 12 cans. The handle of the gift bag resembles a fishing rope. The gift boxes are bright orange for the sun and blue for the sea. The cans themselves are neither decorated nor labeled so that they can be placed over direct heat at home or when camping. The package sleeves are illustrated with images of fish; placing them side by side creates an endless chain of fish—perfect for a store display and as an image of the infinite sea.
