Ensuring the Deaf Stay Alert While Asleep
People with hearing impairments often experience psychological anxiety when removing their hearing aids before sleep, fearing they might miss critical auditory cues. This anxiety can negatively affect sleep quality and is a key factor in the higher incidence of sleep disorders among the hearing-impaired. Hearo was created to help alleviate anxiety and improve sleep quality.
Hearo addresses a problem that is critical for deaf people but often invisible to most others. It addresses the sense of anxiety that many deaf people suffer when disconnected from the world at night during sleep. The solution is both highly intuitive and expertly designed.
WINNER STATEMENTI’m truly honored to receive the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD. I will continue to engage with a wide range of problems and strive to create meaningful solutions through design.
