Access to basic healthcare services.

Our project aimed to contribute to ensure health and well-being for people of all ages in the region of Apurimac, in the south of Peru. We worked during the pandemic period, when Peru has witnessed a rise in coronavirus cases. With hospitals collapsing, already suffering from poor outdated technology, our work enabled 22,148 people of all ages to access basic health services. We achieved this through health campaigns: our vans, used as traveling clinics, went into the Apurimac region, allowing us to reach the most remote populations.

JURY STATEMENT

Enduring perilous mountain paths in Peru's Apurimac region, this initiative operates a mobile clinic providing healthcare to residents facing accessibility obstacles. Health education and a remote clinic significantly enhance the well-being despite challenges.

WINNER STATEMENT

This prize will help us to implement the phase two of the health and telemedicine project. Part of the funds will be used to ensure the basic health services of Venezuelan migrants in the city of Cusco and to combat gender-based violence with our 'Building Equality' project.
