Odaira Memorial Museum is a future-oriented place to learn about the roots of Namihei Odaira, the founder of Hitachi. It was created to enhance engagement among the 300,000+ employees of Japan and abroad, as well as the general public. With Wa, Makoto, and Kaitakusha-seishin (harmony, sincerity, and pioneering spirit), the philosophy of Hitachi that always walked with the modern Japan, it traces the history of innovation, beginning with the development of the first domestically-produced motor in a hut, continued with the challenges of solving social issues, such as post-war reconstruction and technology assistance for developing countries.
