Hochschule Mannheim
After several colleges were joined together to form the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, a new corporate design was needed. The layout of the city of Mannheim is based on a square grid dating back to the Baroque period. The new University consists of nine departments with an emphasis on technology. Key concepts for the new corporate design were: The grid layout of the city, mathematics, technology, transparency, flexibility, design. The new logo was developed by examining the effect of the sine function on a regular grid pattern. Above: Mathematical formula for the transformation of the logo.
