Honey is a common gift among the Chinese, but over-packaging can easily detract from the real value of the contents. The design team considered consumer feedback about over-packaging and developed a protective inner box made out of a single sheet of paper. The design reduces resource waste and printing costs. When the user unfolds the package, they discover a jar of honey hidden in a flower made out of die-board. The Phoenix and the Tianshan mountains play an important role in Western Chinese culture, so the packaging also uses illustrations of these classic motifs and a traditional color scheme.
