Hotel architecture
The book “In Praise of Shadows” explains the conceptual basis of Japanese architectural beauty. This is the core concept of this design. It indicates how the Japanese have cherished the interplay of light and shadow throughout their history of cultural development. This concern is easily translated to modern architecture. Two architectural elements borrowed from the book are Intertwining exterior and interior and a traditional color scheme. The placement of inner gardens that are technically outdoors within the guestrooms makes the hotel experience unique. Dark color schemes in the common area emphasize the natural lighting inside the guest rooms.
