Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei

Hotel

Representing one of Japan’s most respected hotel names, the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei will be the first new hotel to open in Japan in about 20 years under the Hotel Okura brand. It opened in 2022 in the Okazaki area of Kyoto. Consequently, we brought together Kyoto artists and heirs of traditional crafts who continue to challenge themselves without being bound by past conventions, and worked collaboratively with them to co-create spaces throughout the hotel. We hope the hotel’s uniqueness, derived from the beauty and handiwork of each of the craftspeople involved that permeates its every corner, will help convey a new image of Kyoto.
