Residential remodeling

This is a 100-year-old house built on the historic site of a royal tomb in Jeongneung, Korea. The original owner was a classical scholar called Joseon. These historical antecedents guided the design concept. The priority was to retain, as far as possible, the historic architecture while creating a modern home within it. When the architects stripped back the humble interior, they found beautiful wood ceiling structures, which have been tastefully accentuated in the new interior.
