3D Imprint / resin

Hewlett-Packard

The HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje debuted “HP Imprint 3D technology” to the consumer electronic industry. This HP exclusive technology bonds two types of plastic resins together. On the top surface of the clear resin, the intricate pattern created from combining different variations of semi translucent colors casts a subtle shadow onto the secondary white resin creating a 3D effect. The secondary white resin part is created first, and then clear resin is shot over it. The pattern was then applied to the top surface clear resin. “HP Imprint 3D” introduces a unique 3D layered effect for plastic.
