Hwa Chong Institution Heritage Gallery

Gallery Interiors showcase the School's History

The Design Concept for the Hwa Chong Institution Heritage Gallery is inspired by the school's unique blend of traditional chinese values and a global educational approach. We appreciated this dialectic and sought to express this across the different layers of the design process. Housed in a colonial era building, we harmonised both the western classical architectural motifs alongside with traditional chinese ornamentation. The Circulation and spatial experiences around the gallery are devised around a consistently contrasted pairing of distinct elements and experiences. Even the materials used and the design details speak of this dialectic.
