DASD Disk Storage Enclosure

IBM Corporation

The 7031-D24 is a 24-bay (12 front and 12 rear) SCSI DASD expandable storage drawer, capable of providing more than 7Tb of storage in a 4U rack-mount. The bezel design addresses usability and reliability issues with hot-swap DASD, redundant hot-swap blowers and status LEDs for the system and components. A dedicated slot for the service adapter allows for system information to be readily available. The bezel is removed by actuating the blue touch points on either side to access the internal components. The system is available in three physical configurations: a tower for desk-side applications, a 19” rack drawer for mounting in industry-standard equipment racks and a 24” rack drawer for mounting in IBM high-end equipment racks. All three use an identical base system that is then configured as one of the three possible versions.
