The IKK (trade guild health plan) is a statutory healthcare plan. It comprises 19 guild health plans, four state associations and the IKK Federal Association. Each of these bodies is autonomous and has its own financial and staffing independence. The IKK page has a friendly appearance and a user-friendly structure: all contents and services can be reached in just three clicks, and unnecessary intermediate pages have been avoided. Behind the surface there is a complex system: over 60 health plans generate and integrate their contents via a common platform. They profit from a uniform, market-oriented homepage as well as numerous sub-pages — produced by the Federal Association office — that can be “subscribed to”. An individual health plan can create its own homepage flexibly within the prescribed structure: from the contents page to the health fee calculator or course descriptions, all contents can be individually generated and regionalized.
