In between _ a new solar dynamic aesthetic
Adaptive photovoltaic structure
In between aims to transform cities from greedy consumers into healthy providers of energy – clean solar energy generated in a life-enhancing, value-added and aesthetic way. This surface structure composed of adaptive solar cells responds autonomously to changes in lighting conditions. It was inspired by the spontaneous opening and closing movements of plant foliage known as photonasty. Shaded modules return to a relaxed resting state, allowing light to pass through. The combination of efficient solar energy generating and smart shading allows urban structures in any orientation to become smart power plants.
The project is elegantly executed and offers a new approach to creating sustainable buildings that help fight climate change.
WINNER STATEMENTI am deeply honored and grateful to have this project recognized with an iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD. This reinforces my dedication to ecologically and socially inclusive design.
