Print swatch catalog

This project introduces Fujifilm’s specialty metallic ink digital printing in a format that disrupts the way colors and printing methods are traditionally presented in the print industry. The catalog was reimagined as a fictional exploration folio that documents the findings of gem-like insects as a way to present various print effects on different paper stocks. The 3D, iridescent, gem-like insects were made almost entirely of paper and printed by machine. Jewelry versions were also made to encourage print industry viewers to take a closer look with their loupes, a familiar tool in the industry. Besides functioning as a directory of swatches, the catalog is also an asset the sales team uses to connect with business customers.
