Intelligent Life Buoy

Intelligent life buoy

This intelligent life-saving system can help to save people’s life. Once the system has detected signs of life, it will accurately locate a person’s current position through GPS. It will then send the respective information to the nearest rescue team and launch the life buoy to mark the position of those in danger of drowning. In the dark of the night, the red indicator light will guide rescue teams to the person in distress. At a time when satellite-positioning systems are spanning the globe, the intelligent brains of these life-saving systems provide real-time, 24 hour monitoring of the oceans.

JURY STATEMENT

An ambitious concept dealing with a serious problem. The Intelligent life buoy would be ideal in drowning blackspot areas and far from emergency crews. The technology to sense a drowning panicking person is the challenge for this concept, the rest of the technology is here already.

WINNER STATEMENT

First I want to thank my mentor, my teacher, Xiang Yu, for supporting me and my idea from the very start. And I also want to thank Wilson Huang for inspiring and encouraging me to come up with and develop this concept. It would simply have crashed a long time ago, if not for them.
