IONITY
Electric vehicle charging system
IONITY GmbH
IONITY is a joint venture between six of the world's top carmakers (BMW, Daimler, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche). As Europe's first fast-charge network for long-distance travel, Ionityis is planning to instal 400 stations along major routes by the end of 2020. Designworks have created a charging station architecture, charger pylons, and the digital interaction concept. Their task was to furnish IONITY with a recognizable, welcoming and leading-edge visual identity, whilst significantly improving the electric charging experience. The overall goal is to make electromobility more attractive for long-distance travel.
iF Gold Statement
The IONITY electric charger is a highly aesthetic answer to one of the key issues of e-mobility: long distance travelling. It makes e-mobility a true alternative to conventional mobility outside of cities with its capacity of up to 350 KW and very short charging periods en route. Very clever!
