iPad Gear App

Mobile App

Even experts sometimes find it difficult to grasp the functionality and level of innovation of technical products at first sight. IMS Gear, a medium-sized specialist for gear boxes, has solved this dilemma with an iPad app. The app visualizes complex gear box applications as interactive 3D objects, complete with exploded views, rotation, zoom and changes in direction, as well as allowing the retrieval of product information. Surface structures with accurate details together with light and shadow effects convey realistic impressions of the materials. As part of an integrated international concept, the iPad Gear App was originally intended only for use at trade shows. Visitors were given the opportunity to be in close touch – quite literally – with innovative gear box developments at iPad stations. Positive feedback on the intuitive handling of the application led to a special configuration app for planetary gear boxes. Today, both versions of the B2B app are used worldwide by the sales department.
