The west district of Taichung is a popular residential and artistic hub, and it was formerly one of the earliest communities established for the US army during the war. The spatial scale and street grid still remain the same today. The new Isagi restaurant offers delicate Japanese cuisine and is located in one of the townhouse duplexes at the street corner. For the renovation of the existing building, the designers endeavored to create a harmonious conversation between the new and the old, giving guests a fresh perspective of present and past times.
