iYoou – You move and I grow.
Service design concept
Research shows that behavioral habits adopted by students often persist into later life. Therefore, the period of study represents an important opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle and reduce the risk of chronic diseases later in life. iYoou is a service design concept that uses augmented reality (AR) to motivate students to become more active and healthy and less sedentary. Students are accompanied by an avatar named iYoou, a type of Tamagotchi whose appearance reflects the students’ movement behavior. iYoou can only be seen when users are standing up, and movement is necessary to interact with iYoou and other AR objects.
iYoou makes great use of a smartphone app and AR technology to encourage students to be active. The design of the avatar and growth system is very well executed, making the whole experience enjoyable and rewarding.
