Bike Parking Space

When cycling, it can be difficult to find a place to park and/or a way to secure the bike. Carrying heavy locks and chains is quite a nuisance. Just Park changes all that: there is always a place to park and lock your beloved bike! Just Park takes the shape of a tile that blends into the building or sidewalk. It can be installed in many different places, even on the wall. The idea of ‘stopping wherever you want’ is based on intuitive human behavior. Once users put their bicycle onto this device, it will be secured by a digital lock integrated in the groove. Therefore, users no longer have to carry a heavy locker.

JURY STATEMENT

The author of this design has had a very good idea for a safe parking of city bikes. The minimalistic form of this object is defined by its functionality. The designer has completely resigned from a form of a typical bicycle rack or any other standing form in a public space. This clever idea enables to save public space. An interesting and useful invention is the protection against theft which is integrated with the construction of this innovative bicycle rack. Bicycle users do not need to carry their own locks (such as lines or chains) with them to secure their bikes. The design is an easy and intuitive solution which integrates with the ecologic public transport. The aesthetic form of the product completes the whole project.

WINNER STATEMENT

The award is not final, failure is not fatal, it is design which brings happiness to people's lives.
