Assistive order picking

JUST PICK is a concept for an assistive order picking system for warehouses. During a conventional order picking process in big warehouses employees execute 1000-2000 picks a day lifting up to 5 tons in the process. The bad ergonomics while moving heavy boxes out of the warehouse shelves onto the pick vehicles are a major problem for the workers. Just Pick is an intelligent system which supports the human by boxes preparing the boxes on an convenient pick table at an ergonomic height were the picker just has to collect them.

JURY STATEMENT

Advances in ergonomic technology will greatly contribute to the growth of the distribution industry. Just Pick will be a good design to provide an appropriate working environment for workers in the warehouse. In particular, it is believed that this will have the greatest effect at the lowest cost.

WINNER STATEMENT

While working on this project I tried to consider every aspect of the problem and get insight from many different fields, from ergonomics to mechatronics. I am happy that the result was honored with this award.
