K-Force Light 386
A large, thin-walled, hollow structure yields an increased resistance to bending and torsional forces and a lighter weight over thinner, solid structures. FSA has developed a unique carbon fiber bladder-molding process to produce the K-Force Light 386 BB30 crankset. The bladder goes up one side of the arm, around the spindle and back through the crank arm, yielding a unique I-beam structure in the finished product, ideally suited for transmitting shear stress. The bladders pressure is monitored during the molding process to provide optimum fiber compaction. The result is a product with higher stiffness to weight ratio than conventional designs.
