Kaohsiung Techple

public art project in train station

Kaohsiung Techple transforms Kaohsiung Station into a contemporary temple plaza, merging architecture, art, and technology across six interactive public installations: Steam Locomotive, I See Time, Lanterns, Sound Forest, Competition of Color, and Genius Loci. Drawing inspiration from traditional Taiwanese temple plazas, the project creates a three-hectare “empathy space” that reflects the city’s history, celebrates communal memory, and envisions its future. By blending sound, light, projection, and interactive elements, Kaohsiung Techple turns the station into a stage for city life, encouraging dialogue, creativity, and collective experience
