Mobile based digital work platform

Karya is a livelihoods collective - we equip low-income rural Indians with inclusive smartphone-based solutions to earn, learn and grow. We aim to take a holistic approach to livelihood generation that includes three key components: supplementary income generation, skill development, and career guidance. The Karya App will be a one-stop smartphone app where participants can gain access to our key worker features: Karya Earn (digital work platform), Karya Learn (skilling platform), and Karya Grow (support, guidance and career platform). Our flagship service, Karya Earn, has proven its product-market fit over the last year.

JURY STATEMENT

Karya leverages the best of modern technology in order to serve and benefit the poor and disconnected by giving them access to flexible jobs and fair salaries in the gig economy. The project has already had a major impact in India and has enormous potential to scale globally.
