Inclusive Playspace
This inclusive sensory playspace was developed to stimulate children with sensory limitations to play more actively. The project began based on our observations of children with multiple disabilities in the Blind People’s Association in Ahmedabad, India. The activities of the children (aged 6 to 12) were mostly confined to the classroom and they tended to be shy and withdrawn. They had little opportunity to go outside and expand their learning environment, which would improve their physical and mental development. The space consists of many different elements, including a bioscope, an interactive wall, bamboo chimes and sound installations.
We are really excited to be getting this iF Concept Award 2013. Our project being appreciated at this international platform has given us a great deal of motivation and confidence for our future projects.
