Dining chair

The cedar known as Cryptomeria japonica is a distinctively Japanese tree. Today, the Japanese forests are overrun with excessive quantities of the Japanese cedar, which should already have been felled. However, because it is ductile and therefore susceptible to dents and scratches, it has not been used in furniture. The steam compression technique was developed in order to overcome this drawback. This chair is made of an innovative material called “straight-grained, compressed sugi wood”. This chair designs are characterized by their refined forms, this especially apparent in three-dimensional curves and twists from chair-back to armrest.
