Dishwasher for Everybody even Robots

Cleaning dishes can be a huge challenge for visually impaired people. According to our user research, it is mentally straining and comes with a high risk of injury. låda is a concept designed to make dishwashing safe and accessible for the visually impaired. It can work in a team with the Samsung Bot Handy, a domestic robot meant to support people in their everyday lives. The låda concept includes a drawer dishwasher and a special set of modular trays, both equipped with tactile and easy-to-understand interfaces. låda makes dishwashing easy, safe and quick — for everybody.

JURY STATEMENT

The use of colorful colanders with different tactile surfaces not only allows visually impaired individuals to distinguish utensils more easily but also brings a more pleasant user experience for users without visual impairments. The overall design is characterized by its simplicity and elegance.

WINNER STATEMENT

Winning our first iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD feels absolutely incredible! We were at uni when we got the awesome news. I told Coco, and she literally jumped into my arms, bouncing around the studio in pure celebration mode.
