Le Cube Nespresso

Domestic espresso machine

Nestlé Nespresso SA

The central feature in this machine is its compact brewing unit (CBU) operated by a handle which replaces the capsule holder or the jaw of other Nespresso machines. Its development was made possible by close collaboration with enginneers even before the beginning of design. This CBU allows the capsule to be easily loaded from above, extracted in a simple gesture (closing of handle) and evacuated automatically by gravity into an internal container when the handle is re-opened. The designers clearly opted for minimalist solutions which make the machine simple and instinctive to use, almost amusing.
