Leeum Museum of Art is the first museum ever to adopt ultra-wideband (UWB) technology which enables accurate indoor positioning. The LEEUM Digital Guide provides real-time tracking of visitors’ location and viewing experience. The guide enables visitors to conveniently listen to artwork descriptions played automatically based on their location and download a personalized “end-ticket,” a summary of their museum visit. UWB technology is beneficial as it offers better positioning accuracy while enabling data accumulation. As such, UWB-based indoor experience design is likely to increase in importance moving forward.
