The graphics for this user interface underwent a comprehensive redesign based on usability research findings. One of the main aims was to make the complex functions easy and efficient for users who have varying degrees of expertise and widely differing objectives in using them. In addition, all the functions were restructured based on the most widely deployed application procedures, and optimized in terms of workflow. Another design objective was to create a high-quality look that matched the technology, as well as to develop a corporate design for software products from Leica Microsystems CMS GmbH.
