Permeable urban pavement

LIFE CERSUDS is an urban intervention based on an innovative construction system. This project addresses the problem of water and soil sealing in cities. LIFE CERSUDS is a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) made of an economical ceramic material that functions as permeable urban pavement. This floor allows water infiltration, runoff treatment, and water reuse. The pavement has been installed in a pilot area of approximately 3,000 m2 in a consolidated urban environment with light and pedestrian traffic located in the municipality of Benicàssim, Spain.
