Life in Tree House

Residential interior

Soar Design Studio

Mimicking a treehouse, this design breaks with convention to carve out ample living space that includes three individual rooms suspended by steel structures from the ceiling. Solid wood flooring extends the hallway and promotes interaction, offering a space where people can connect. A multifunctional public space features overlapping room flows for more spontaneity and an organic lifestyle. The designers wanted to change how home dwellers view and use the space by layering gaps and closures within the square rooms. The idea is that people feel others’ presence through these tiny spatial leaks.
