Curious children, for example, sometimes take batteries out of the remote and mix them with unused batteries. As someone who lives with smaller siblings, I often have difficulties distinguishing new from used batteries. So, I simply added a pull ring to the battery, thus making it easy to identify used batteries. Additionally, this makes it also easier to remove a battery from packaging or devices. I hope this low-cost design can solve lots of problems.
Good points of this project are the usability and ergonomics. "Lift-ring Battery” solves a common problem of identification of used batteries and facilitates their removal. This tool is a great example of design, which is the answer to real world problems in a simple, practical and economical way.
WINNER STATEMENTDesign is much more than just 'lifestyle' to me, which helps to create work that solves real-life problems.
