Light Up The 13 Layer Remains

Public art project

The remains of the Copper Refinery in ShuiNan Cave are an important part of the cultural landscape that has resulted from the mining industry in JinGuaShih. In present-day JinGuashih the mining industry is long gone, but the life it brought is still there, alive with the mountains and the waters. The cultural background of the 13-Layer Remains is known to the world as unique, as the mining in JinGuaShih bears witness to a crucial aspect of Taiwanese culture. And then the remains are once again embraced by nature. When night falls, light enlivens the soul of history.
